Right to Manage
You can join together with your other leaseholders to obtain the right to manage your building.
This is a cheaper alternative to buying your freehold and is a popular option if you either have a long lease already or do not have the funds to extend it and you want more say in the way your building is managed. There is nothing to stop the leaseholders employing your own managing agent after you have exercised your right. This is appealing for many leaseholders particularly in larger buildings as the managing agents will take instruction from the right to manage company.
There are limits on the minimum numbers of leaseholders who need to participate and on the type of building but we can advise you on this.
We are one of the few firms locally who are members of the Association of Leasehold Practitioners (ALEP). This organisation exists to ensure that practitioners involved in this sector adhere to an agreed level of conduct and service. Membership of this professional association is a badge of assurance to leaseholders and freeholders that they can be sure of a consistently high level of service, integrity and professionalism.
We are normally able to offer a fixed price for this type of work and if you are interested in finding out more please do not hesitate to contact our leasehold expert Simon Elliott
